AMU’s Thai community had its day at Maulana Azad Library, and two Thai Aligs did most of the talking. The Indo-Thai Academic and Cultural Exchange Programme 2026, held in the library’s Cultural Hall, brought together around 100 people, including 25 Thai students currently studying at AMU, the university said on 21 October 2026.
Who organised it
- Sir Syed Foundation
- Cultural Education Centre (CEC), AMU

The theme was “ASEAN and Beyond: Building Academic and Cultural Bridges through Youth Engagement”.
The alumni who spoke
The keynote came from Dr Bandit Aroman (Alig), who heads the Political Science Programme and is Director of Security and Peace Management at Krirk University in Thailand. He is also General Secretary of the AMU Alumni Association of Thailand. His point was simple: partnerships between institutions, young people and alumni who stay in touch are what keep India and Thailand talking.
