Updated on 23 October 2026. Placements are one of the first things students and parents ask about when choosing Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). AMU does not publish a single annual placement report, so this guide brings together the official figures AMU submitted to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), how the university’s placement cells work, and which companies have recruited recently.

AMU does not publish an official “highest package” figure. Be careful with numbers quoted on coaching or listing websites that do not give a source.
AMU placement cells
AMU runs eight training and placement cells, according to the university website:
- Training and Placement Office (General)
- Training and Placement Office, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET)
- Training and Placement, Computer Science
- Training and Placement, Management (Department of Business Administration)
- Training and Placement, AMU Malappuram Centre
- Training and Placement, University Polytechnic
- Training and Placement, University Women’s Polytechnic
- Department-wise placement coordinators
Training and Placement Office (General)
Set up in March 2012, the General TPO handles campus placements for non-engineering courses and works with departmental placement coordinators. It also runs workshops, mock interviews, resume sessions and career fairs. AMU says recruiters have come from IT and ITES, manufacturing, banking and finance, media, law and social services.
Training and Placement Office (ZHCET)
The ZHCET placement office handles engineering students. It invites companies and government departments for campus interviews and posts company-wise registration notices with deadlines. Students who want to sit for a company’s process must register for that company before the deadline given in the notice.
Companies that recruited recently
ZHCET placement notices from June to August 2025 named companies including Siemens Energy India, Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), ReNew Energy Global, Josh Technology Group, DeltaX, RITEX Group and Inherent Engineering. The list changes every year, so follow your placement office’s notices for the current season.
How to make the most of AMU placements
- Find out which placement cell covers your course, and follow its notice board and official social media pages.
- Register for each company before the deadline given in its notice.
- Attend the workshops and mock interviews your cell runs.
- Keep an updated resume ready from your pre-final year.
- Use the alumni network. Seniors working in companies you are targeting are often the best source of referrals. You can find them in the Alig Directory.
