Abdullah Hall has a new Provost. Prof. Nasrin of the Department of Education has been appointed to head the women’s hall for two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, and takes charge immediately.
Her appointment came in a set of orders released by the AMU Public Relations Office on 29 October, covering the university’s two top bodies, a research centre and two campus services.

Executive Council and Court
Prof. Rais Ullah Khan gets his Executive Council seat as the next senior-most Dean. He will stay on the council for as long as he is Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

Prof. Zeba N. Siddiqui enters the Court by rotation, as the next senior-most Chairperson. Her term is three years, or for as long as she remains Chairperson of Chemistry, whichever ends first.
A JNMC alumnus for the Brain Research Centre
Prof. Raman Mohan Sharma is a JNMC product himself. He did his MBBS there in 2005, an MS in General Surgery at B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, in 2009, and an M.Ch. in Neurosurgery at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, in 2013. He joined JNMC’s neurosurgery department in 2014 and has been a Professor since December 2019.
His work covers endovascular neurosurgery, skull-base and craniovertebral junction surgery and neuroendoscopy. At JNMC he helped set up a High Dependency Unit for neurosurgery patients. He won the Best Poster Award at the 62nd Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India in 2013.
Guest houses and gas agency
Prof. Shakeel Ahmad of Law will now look after the University Guest Houses, and Prof. Mohd Shariq of Civil Engineering takes over the AMU Gas Agency. Both terms run two years or until further orders.
