Why young dentists take it
Short hands-on programmes like this give fresh BDS graduates time in a busy surgical department before they decide on MDS preparation or private practice. Maxillofacial surgery covers jaw fractures, impacted teeth, facial trauma and oral surgeries that most general dentists see only briefly during internship.
