Aligarh Muslim University will declare the result of its All India Essay Competition 2026 on 17 October, according to a notification from the AMU Public Relations Office reported by EduAdvice. The competition is held every year as part of the Sir Syed Day celebrations, which mark the birth anniversary of AMU founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan on 17 October.
Topic and languages
This year’s topic is “Technology and Ethics in 21st Century: Sir Syed’s Perspective”. Essays were invited in three languages: English, Hindi and Urdu.
Who could take part
The competition was open to students of all universities and colleges in India. School students up to Class 12 were not eligible.

Prize money

Winners from outside Aligarh will get free accommodation and food, and AC 3-tier rail fare both ways for themselves and one family member (father, mother, brother or sister), so they can attend the prize distribution. The university’s decision on prizes is final, and any disputes fall under Aligarh jurisdiction.
