The AMU Alumni Association, Mumbai held its Sir Syed Day Celebrations 2026 at Islam Gymkhana, Marine Lines, Mumbai, on Saturday, 17 October 2026. Sir Syed Day marks the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University. AMU alumni associations across India and abroad hold their own functions on or around the day.
Chief guest and president
- Chief guest: Sunil Dattatray Tatkare, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Chairperson of the Lok Sabha Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas
- Presided by: Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor, Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna
The association’s invitation had named Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi to preside and Prof. Faizan Mustafa as keynote speaker. The event banner on the day listed Prof. Faizan Mustafa as presiding over the function.
